Fans of either of the Final Fantasy MMOs will be pleased to hear that Square Enix’s online servers will be up and running again on the 25th of March, 4pm PDT. The service was temporarily shut down following the Tohoku earthquake in Japan. 11.6% of the power used by Square Enix’s Tokyo office is used on these servers and in order to resume operation they have turned off their air conditioning and reduced their office lighting.

Thanks to Siliconera for the info.

And non too surprisingly, at as far as FFXIV is concerned at least, no one will notice.
Please square… just stop XIV and use the money, if you gain anything from it, to help japan. Keep XI, but XIV really is going nowhere
wow, i didint think it took that much power. x.x thats crazy.

That is sum serious juice, almost surprised they r turnin them back on so quickly. I am amazed how much of a disaster XIV has become. It is Square’s bread & butter so u would think they would make sure the game was ready b4 they launched it.

I guess since the Tokyo area was not really that affected they were able 2 turn the stuff back on fairly early. A college friend of mines lives int he city & he said things were pretty normal there.
