The official demo for the third installment in the Final Fantasy XIII universe series, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, has just debuted for the Xbox 360 version of the game. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, as the name would suggest, once again features sub-series protagonist Lightning, who is back and more badass than ever, and with a new wardrobe to boot.
That’s right; one of the main elements of the newest installment in the series will be the ability to customize the outfits of your leading lady, Lightning. Fear not though, Final Fantasy fans, for it’s not as lame as it sounds. With each “outfit” that Lightning dons, her abilities, strengths and weaknesses will be affected, making for a uniquely customizable Final Fantasy experience.
The Final Fantasy XIII series has caught a lot of flack since its release, with complaints ranging from the games focus on graphics and game play rather than story, and the arguably bland cast of characters. Square Enix has made a noted effort to address these complaints and up the user experience for all in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. Let’s hope they did the job right.
