Microsoft Will Discuss Its Next Wave Of Big Hits At E3, Says Xbox Boss Phil Spencer

Now what could this wave of new hits be…?

All eyes are on Microsoft and their E3 showing for this year- the company is slated to reveal the Xbox One Scorpio, the next iteration of the Xbox platform, at the event, and whether or not it goes down well with gamers will depend entirely on the game support for it that Microsoft can garner.

During Microsoft’s Financial Analyst Briefing 2017 in Seattle, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said that Microsoft is getting ready to reveal its next wave of big gaming hits at E3 this year. Understanding that good games are what drives engagement with profitable platforms like Xbox Live, Spencer assured those in attendance that Microsoft will reveal a new batch of hits at the event to continue the service’s growth.

That sounds reasonably exciting- I wonder what Microsoft is planning on revealing? Given the emphasis placed on Xbox Live, however, it does sound like whatever they do end up showcasing will have a strong online, monetizable component.

Wait, you don’t think they are both the same people? I figured that amount of crazy fanboyism had to be only one person.

    • quantum

They are not the same person. CBM is humorous at least and doesn’t upvote himself with sock puppets whereas the rat is just a hate filled douche with nothing noteworthy to say.

    • Learned Handgun

Color me surprised. I could have sworn that they were just alter accounts of one looney person trying to convince people there were more people out there like him

Actually I do have another account that I use from time to time, and as soon as someone is able to peg it as me, I will admit it, and subsequently retire it. But no, it is not Xrat. Xrat does his own thing and yes, I do enjoy seeing him rile you guys up. He is a very good at it. Don’t trip.

“Microsoft Will Discuss Its Next Wave Of Big Hits”……. I’m still waiting for the first wave of big hits ☺☺☺

    • Kvally

I still have a huge backlog of games to play on my Xbox. You must have been living under a rock.

    • Gamez Rule

Nope not at all. Still waiting for these big hits and the exclusive games what Albert Penello state about ages ago…….”We have a great exclusive games lineup. We’re getting tonnes of developer support”

Where are these *great exclusive games for Xbone & where is this games lineup he stated with dev-support*? No support from MS at all in the first 5 months of 2017 with full exclusive xbone games and I can’t see a games lineup at all☺

    • Kvally

Sadly, the PSBore had no support last fall and winter, and have no support this fall and winter. The PS is like, dead.

  • Dougdec92

Wanna drown in this wave, RYSE 2 pls.

    • Mark

      Yes!

    • Dougdec92

I can’t stop telling the world how awesome that game still is, one of the games after god of war to play all the difficulty levels, it was quite short but a great game. The to!an empire spanned a great many ages, many stories on epic scales could be gleaned from this IP, MS pls make this happen….pls

    • SalvagedXBot

Really liked the first game (got it on the cheap though), if the second one has more depth would be awesome.

    • Dougdec92

Honestly I didn’t mind the story, it was excellent and as most first games go, they spend time world building so the hopefully eventual sequels can flow seamlessly, I hope and pray RYSE 2 will be announced, I will steal an Xbox to play that game.

  • Legionarius

Hoping for interesting new IPs and new entries in established IPs, especially some of the ones we haven’t seen in a while like Perfect Dark, for example.

    • Mark

Dude a next gen Perfect Dark?! Yes please

  • crazy_black_man- ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ
    • Mr Xrat

Don’t forget the definitive edition announce at E3, along with their “stories.”

    • Cenk Algu

      Why do you reply yourself?

    • Cenk Algu

What happened to your big hits until 2017? What happened to TO1886,Knack,KZSF and UD? Fakeboy.

    • crazy_black_man- ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

All those games are better than Recore.

    • Cenk Algu

      lol! no way Mr.xRat

    • Gamez Rule

What happened? Well I played them games once released, unlike the games shown at E3 from MS like Scalebound, Fable Legends, Ion, Project Knoxville, etc, due to being canned. So at least those PS4 games saw the light of day☺

And lets not forget that no true exclusive games have been release by MS within the first Five months of this year for Xbone users while Sony has released game after game supporting their user-base.

MS haven’t given their supporters nothing this year to talk about apart from hardware that’s not even released yet.

    • Foozi

Games like Uncharted 4, Until Dawn, Ratchet and Clank, Bloodborne, MLB series were all successful games.

MS is still struggling to create a successful IP outside of Halo, Gears and Forza.

    • Cenk Algu

UD is one of the shittiest games ever played.U4 meiocre,Rand C remake Bloodborne good.So not that successful

    • Foozi

Typical fanboy response. Sales and reviews state other wise and prove they were both critically and financially successful.

    • Cenk Algu

lol send me the sales numbers unfanboy!

    • Foozi

      Why are you so dense?

Sony has already said Uncharted 4 sold 8.7M and Bloodborne sold over 2 million. Until Dawn surpassed sales expectations and they’re already planning on a sequel (made the NPD top 10 charts). Ratchet and Clank had the best launch in franchise history as stated by Insomniac games.

So not that successful? Clearly you don’t know what you’re even talking about. I know what you’re probably going to do. X amount of playstation’s sold and x amount of copies sold. That’s stupid logic. There’s over 100m PC users and all or even half of them don’t even buy the biggest PC games out there. That’s just stupid logic fanboys try to spew to damage control PS4 game sales.

By comparison. ReCore, Quantum Break, Forza 6, Sunset Overdrive, Ryse all did not sell well on the Xbox platform.

    • Cenk Algu

Still not convinced U4 did well but what about the others?

    • Foozi

You’re in complete denial if you think they haven’t done well. I just gave you facts and you ignored it.

  • Mr Xrat

“Big hits” like Dud Rising 4? Projected to sell 2 million, couldn’t even hit half that.

“Big hits” like Crackdown 3 (revealed 2014), Sea of Thieves (revealed 2015), yet another Forza and the obligatory next Halo reveal.

    Shitbox Done is a joke.

      MS > Sony.
Always has, always will. Enjoy your broken ‘boost’ mode games

    • Mr Xrat

Another Gamespotter. Have they finally done the right thing and purged you cretins?

    • Kvally

Kinda like the big hits “Street Flopper V”, “No Man’s Flop” and “The Flop Guardian”. Looking forward to more KillzoneGranTurismoUncharted milking. Oh wait…we don’t have to wait. Gran Turismo and Uncharted releases this year again. Just like clock work.

    • Ryan Mahaffey

I mean Horizon, Nioh, Yakuzo, Persona 5, God of War, Spiderman.

    • Kvally

So some mulitplat games and non existent games, cool.

    • Ryan Mahaffey

None of those are multiplats… all of them are either doing really well,or will likely do really well.

    • Mr Xrat

Did Gamespot finally get sick of you?

    • Kvally

      Are you mad?

    • Mr Xrat

Go back to pretending to be a girl on Gamespot, Brian.

So much for those “next wave of big hits” if they meant disposable trash like Lucky’s Tale. They need to plumb the depths to find games that can do native 4K 60fps.

    • Hedon

      Yup you are mad.

  • Ron

Scorpio & Forza. Oh, and a Forza game. I’ve also heard talk that a Forza game is in the works and may even see a 2017 release, to push Scorpio. Might have to fetch a bump to keep from going to sleep during MS’ e3. #XboxCuresInsomnia
