New CryEngine 3 Technical Screens Released
The gaming engine wars are fuming! Today we have the latest batch of CryEngine 3 screens and I must admit Crytek are doing an amazing job with it. One of the screens is from the upcoming shooter Crysis 2 and the rest of them are nothing but amazing technical demonstrations.
Do check them out out below and let us know what are your thoughts on the on going cold war between Epic Games and Crytek over creating the most visually impressive engine.

they have yet to perfect human facial expressions but the environment and the lighting looks superb.-

well, they pretty much got the facial expressions down and that’s all that matters to me. I’d rather see stunning expansive environments.

I like that, the “engine war”. Anyway, these technologies are going to blow us away. This proves that its the technologies that give great graphics not the console. But, i guess it was never about the consoles.

I guess Cryengine has the engine crown 4 now, but we’ll c what happens when Rage (id tech 5) & BF 3 (FB 2) release. I think Rage will take the graphics title in Sept.
