How do you entice single player gamers into giving you their money for a service they don’t currently have? Simple. You give it to them for free, but just long enough to make them want more. Sony seem to understand this because this March March 20, at 12:01am Pacific time to Sunday, March 22, at 11:59pm Pacific time, the PlayStation Plus is free for everyone that own’s a PlayStation 4 and has access to an internet connection.

Gamers need only boot up their favourite game that has multiplayer functionality, log on to the PlayStation Network and just like that they can enjoy a free weekend of PS + online multiplayer. What’s particularly nice about this offer is that there is “no membership commitment is required to try out online multiplayer during this period.” So you don’t even need to worry about being charged for taking advantage of the offer.

This is a good move to make for Sony as they need to do something to combat Xbox Live’s free trials that they often give out.
