That’s basically as far into its previously announced Summer release window as it is possible for it to release.

Sonic Mania has already been delayed once- it was originally due for launch this Spring, but it was pushed into this Summer. Now, we may have a better idea of when the new release date will be. According to some emails that people who pre-ordered the game on Amazon are receiving, it appears as though the game will be launching in September- September 4, specifically.

This would actually put it on the outer edge of the ‘Summer’ release window- basically a little over two weeks before Summer makes way for Fall. However, it does reinforce that the new release date makes sense.

Sonic Mania is meant to be a new, retro style 2D Sonic platformer, in the same vein as the 16-bit Genesis games. It is going to be releasing on the Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage and information on the game.

A lot of articles are calling this the second delay for Sonic Mania, when in fact it actually falls in the “Summer release” window as previously stated. September is still the summer. Lol.
