Sony has revealed its upcoming Ultra HD media device, the 4K Ultra HD Media Player (or the FMP-X10 for those of you like boring names).
The player will support Sony’s very own TRILUMINOUS colour technology, along with 4k native resolution and a 1TB storage capacity- which is twice as much as what we see in the PS4. Users will be able to download and stream films via Netflix and Sony’s Video Unlimited 4K Service.
What is most striking, though, is the fact that the 4K player looks a lot like the PS4. It’s got the same sleek, stacked design that the PS4 does, though it has a flat, even front rather than the slanting front of the PS4.
We also don’t know yet if Sony plans on bringing this 4K video technology to the PS4, but we’re assuming they’d want to. They would probably see the sense in it.
Stay tuned for more updates.
