The End of Console War: PS4 And Xbox One Unite In The PlayBox
It’s a PS4 and Xbox One, combined into one laptop.
Ed Zarick, the man who has previously brought us laptops based on both, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, has now done the ultimate- he has taken both the rival consoles, and combined them into one custom made laptop. It is called the PlayBox, and it is… well, it’s fairly bulky, although I imagine that that’s a small concession to be made to the fact that you now have access to all Xbox One and PlayStation 4 games on the same device… even though, like, 95% of their library is the exact same thing.
“The PS4 sits on the left hand side of the unit, and the Xbox One is on the right side,” Zarick explained in a new blog post. “The whole unit still only takes one power cord (must be plugged in) and only one unit can be powered on at the same time.
“This system took a lot of attempts and reconfiguring to make everything fit and still some things had to be compromised to make the system work, for example it was impossible to get the USB ports on the Xbox to be extended to the outside of the case. But the unit does offer Ethernet ports for both units (WiFi for both units also works), along with HDMI Out.”
As of right now, the PlayBox is not actually for sale, unlike Zarick’s previous products. That said, let’s hope one day he makes it widely available, since it is… well, you know, there has to be some market for this, if only as a novelty.
