Vigil Games hiring for first-person shooter

Posted By | On 26th, Jul. 2012

Vigil Games, creators of the Darksiders series, are hiring for a first-person shooter, according to a job advertisement on their website.

The role advertised is for a Senior Gameplay Programmer for their “next title” and requires applicants to have “previously held a senior programming position on at least one shipped AAA console or PC title (preferably an FPS)” as well as being “an avid FPS gamer with strong interest in pushing the genre forward creatively.”

Under “Pluses”, the listing also states applicants will have a better chance with “prior experience working on an FPS title” and a “deep knowledge (professionally or as a gamer) of FPS mechanics and gameplay.”

Considering Vigil Games’ only titles to date are Darksiders and Darksiders II, this represents a significant change in direction for the developer. Let’s hope they can deliver.
