THQ  today announced a playable demo for WWE All Stars is now available for download on Xbox LIVE as well as the PlayStation Network.

“Our playable demo for WWE All Stars will give players a tremendous opportunity to experience an original style of WWE gameplay centered around two incredible talent in Ultimate Warrior and Rey Mysterio,” said Danny Bilson, Executive Vice President, Core Games, THQ. “This videogame is fun, intuitive and very approachable, and we believe our core WWE SmackDown® vs. Raw® fans, WWE enthusiasts and casual followers alike will respond very favorably to this unique and fresh take on the virtual WWE experience.”

Featuring WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio and legendary competitor Ultimate Warrior and in a classic Exhibition match in the All Stars Arena, players will experience the wide range of techniques, strengths and advantages represented by two of the four unique character classes available in WWE All Stars. Competing as a Brawler, Ultimate Warrior will be a master of striking and stringing together powerful combination sequences, including unblockable charged strikes that lead to grapples and juggling opportunities. Brawlers also have an increased range on their strikes, making the class the most balanced to play in WWE All Stars. As an Acrobat, players competing as Rey Mysterio will experience lightning fast, high-flying action. Acrobats can spring off ring ropes to perform attacks, as well as run and jump on turnbuckles in a flash. They will also move faster than their opponents, and their aerial moves will connect with pinpoint accuracy.

WWE All Stars is currently in development for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 system, PlayStation 2 , PSP and the Wii , with a scheduled release date of March 29, 2011.

As a chile of the late 80’s I grew up idolizing the ultimate warrior and hulk hogan (they had a huge feud back in the day), and needless to say, I haven’t been taken up with a game since the snes days. However, i am looking to expand my fps platformer rut and am willing to dl this demo to see if it is promising…however I can see me getting very excited for a wrestling game seeing as how MK is coming out soon

these days were amazing in wrestling. every wrestler was unique in shape and look. the stories weren’t too scripted. these were the days when we actually thought wrestling was real :p

    • I remeber having an ultimate warrior wrestling buddy which I just got rid of last year. Hulk Hogan was my favorite wrestler back then as with many other fanns of the WWF. I’m downloading right now, but I don’t think this game is centered around one particular era tareq. I think, since Rey Mysterio is in this and the title is WWE Allstars, it’s going to feature the greatest wrestlers of all time. I like this concept because it excludes all the useless wrestlers no one cares about like the Mizz or whatever the hell his name is. Hopefully this resurrects wrestling on consoles because the only two games that ever really entertained me were royal rumble for the sega dreamcast and before that wwf wrestle mania on the Sega Genisis.

    • Speaking of the WWF, does anyone know why they changed the name? Its WWE now, maybe its because I haven’t watched in a while but I never heard of it being called the WWE until recently. I started to hate what they were doing to the organization when they bought WCW so I stopped watching and caring.

i think they lost a law suit against an animal group that is called wwf go search the name. and they had to change it to wwe

Its been a while since I played a wrestling game but this 1 really appeals 2 me. I grew up during the Hulk/Warrior error as well so it is cool 2 b able 2 play all those matchups. & 2 b able 2 pit them against the newer guys as well.

i have yet to see the full cast in this game, but yeah its finally about time to put old school fighters against the new ones.

i really lke the cartoonish design, the last design i liked was no mercy on the nintendo 64. i hated the realistic ones the made after than. and the crazy moves are actually interesting. should be an entertaining game.

    • I like it too for the cartoonish style. It seems more entertaining than watching a bunch of mild violence from semi realistic mockups.

Yeah those n64 wrestling games were my fav & were prolly the best wrestling games til the 1st Def Jam game came out. Loved all the environmental interaction. Think they made by the same developer.

The wrestling organization had 2 change its name 2 WWE b/c of a lawsuit brought against them by the WWF (World Wildlife Fund). It had been in court for like 10 yrs or so b4 the case was settled & they were forced 2 change their name. Pandas 1 Vince 0.

I loved the cartoony style wrestling games since WWF Allstars in the arcade. Am I the only 1 old enough 2 remember that? Lol

    • tareq salah

no i remember it too. the one with undertaker, shaunmichaels, british bulldog, clown man and razor ramon. they had specials too that was the best wwe game to be honest.
