Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D
Here it is, the 3DS’ biggest killer app next year. Funnily enough, this killer app is a 3D remake of a game that was released 7 years ago. But it’s not a remake of just any random game. No, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is, till this day, one of the best games of all time, and probably the best Metal Gear Solid game ever. It’s story was brilliant, characterization was great, and it tied up tons of loose ends that had been bugging Metal Gear Solid fans for a long time. Not just that- it was also a return to the great stealth formula after the somewhat different Metal gear Solid 2. MGS3D may not exactly be the most original title coming out next year, but it is certainly the one that has 3DS owners the most excited.
Heroes of Ruin
Heroes of Ruin has been described by many as one of the most anticipated 3DS titles coming out next year. And seeing as it’s an Action-RPG developed by n-Space (who has tremendous knowledge of how to develop games on handheld systems), under the supervision of of Square Enix, I understand everyone’s excitement. Judging from the little information and the few screenshots that have been revealed, it looks like a hell of a game, one that shouldn’t be missed by RPG fans or those who want to see the 3DS’s 3D functionality in all its glory. We may not know much about it yet, but Heroes of Ruin sure has us excited.
Tales of the Abyss
Tales of the Abyss may not have been the best RPG around when it was released for the PS2 all those years ago, but it still was one hell of a game, and not just because it was a Tales game. We’re excited to see if it’ll still be good after so many yeas of its original release, and if it’ll change itself at all to suit the 3DS. It sure looks really good, from what we’ve seen, and I’m sure I, for one, will like it even if it hasn’t changed one bit, simply because it’s a classic JRPG.
Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle
Out of all the Professor Layton games I’ve played, not one of them has disappointed me. In fact, Unwound Future is probably one of my most favourite games on the DS. Mask of Miracle looks really good too. The very thought of Professor Layton level puzzles utilizing the 3DS’s 3D function gives me an erection. And with the production values that Professor Layton games usually boast of, I’m very sure Mask of Miracle will be awesome, and a must buy game for all 3DS owners and all fans of the series.
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance
It’s been so long since we saw Kingdom Hearts 2, and it’s almost as if Square Enix isn’t announcing KH3 on purpose, to torture us. But it doesn’t really matter all that much- we’ve been getting a steady stream of great Kingdom Hearts games, with one awesome installment each on the PSP and DS. The 3DS will also be getting one next year, and I have a feeling it will be the best of all. Why, you ask? One word- Tron. It features a world based on the Tron universe, that enough will make all Disney, Tron and Kingdom Hearts fans want to get the game on day 1. Add to that the fact that the game will be an excellent RPG in itself, and we have a winner on our hands.
