Resident Evil Village – Story Contrivances and Plot Holes
Resident Evil Village is often described as a roller-coaster ride – a tightly packed, deftly paced adventure with great boss battles, memorable characters and fun exploration. The entire level with Heisenberg leading to his boss fight. Exploring House Beneviento. Even the last hour or so is great in terms of outright chaos and insanity. However, some of the story contrivances and plot holes are a little…out there.
Ethan dying in Resident Evil 7: biohazard but somehow surviving thanks to the mold? The Four Houses forming the basis for Umbrella’s logo? The BSAA suddenly being evil and sending hybrid BOW soldiers into the village? Granted, this is supposed to be an over-the-top story but it does stretch credulity at times. But hey, at least we got some of the best sequences in the franchise. So ultimately it’s a win.
