Wipeout
Just like Syphon Filter on this list, Wipeout was one of those franchises that saw more releases on the PSP as compared to its big brother, the PlayStation 3. I think Wipeout will easily be one of the best games to employ the PSP2’s gyroscope and accelerometer since it requires a lot of quick reactions and inputs from the player. Also the series can go for some unique ideas like track deformation or firing missile by shaking off your NGP. The possibilities are endless.
Resident Evil
If you guys remember there was a Resident Evil game announced for the PSP just around when Go! was launched. But unfortunately the game was never heard after that and I strongly think that the portable Resident Evil will come over to the PSP2/NGP. It will be interesting to see what Capcom does with the series since it was quoted by a Capcom executive that the next Resident Evil game will probably be a reboot of the entire series. A new hardware in the NGP will hopefully give the developers fresh ideas about where to take the survival horror franchise next.
Heavenly Sword
Nariko’s adventures was easily one of the first technical showcases for the PlayStation 3 featuring a rich world and probably the best use of the Six Axis Motion capabilities to date. Even though Ninja Theory were the original developers but they will probably not work on the sequel, but the IP belongs to Sony. The NGP is already rendering games which look better than the PS3 games released in 2007, the same year in which Heavenly Sword was released. With the PS3 already populated with an impressive line up of games, Heavenly Sword 2 will push the platform to greatness.
Braid
While there’s no PSP2-specific reason for Braid to be in this list, there is one very strong reason- Braid was simply as awesome game. Awesome art design, great, solid platformer gameplay and an overall undeniable charm that couldn’t be replicated in any other game, Braid proved to be not just one of the best downloadable games of 2009, but one of the best indie games, period. If not a sequel, a port of the game would be a treat for all PSP2 owners.
