Resident Evil 3 Remake is a game of two halves, with the first obviously being a lot better than the second. The reason behind this nosedive in quality has to be attributed to the fact that Resident Evil 3 forgoes its survival horror roots and a chunk of its original content in favour of an action-packed blockbuster experience which results in a dissonance between the two halves. It’s a repeat of the same issue that made Resident Evil 6 so divisive in the first place, and it’s a shame that the developer didn’t learn that lesson since it could have been a much better experience if the tonality was kept consistent through and through.
