Oh how the mighty have fallen

The man should do stand up instead of… Whatever the hell he does for Sony these days. His earlier career aside, everything he says regarding the PS3 is a joke. I have just a few of my favourite quotes here for your enjoyment: “I believe we made the most beautiful thing in the world. Nobody would criticize a renowned architect’s blueprint that the position of a gate is wrong. It’s the same as that.” Just wow. Exhibit number two: “The PS3 will instil discipline in our children and adults alike. Everyone will know discipline.” Sounds more like an S and M session than a game’s console. And my personal favourite: It will be expensive … for consumers to think to themselves ‘I will work more hours to buy one’. We want people to feel that they want it, irrespective of anything else.” Yeah, probably…

Conker’s bad fur day

It’s not very subtle, but the over the top comedy in Conker’s Bad Fur Day was one of its major selling points. Big-breasted sunflowers, Misogynistic cogs and a properly slick Matrix allusion, CBFD had a lot of class moments. The one that took the crown for immaturity and general ridiculousness was the giant singing poo. You never forget something like that.

Ring king time out motivation

Ring King was an arcade game back in the day, that was later ported to the NES. It wasn’t really all that funny, but the boxer-coach interactions seen between rounds in the game has become somewhat legendary. I don’t really have words to describe it. I don’t even know what they were trying to go for with this.
