Red Dead Redemption
The spaghetti western is a shamefully under-represented genre in gaming. You can practically count the amount of western themed games in recent memory on one hand, but Red Dead Redemption was able to do the genre justice. Not only was it a very playable open-world adventure, but it boasted an old west environment that even John Wayne would be glad to call home. The deserts were open and untamed, and the saloons were rustic and raucous, but there was also a much needed variety through mountainous and forested regions to north of the map in RDR. Redemption had style, depth and variety; a mix seldom found in today's open-world adventures.
