Though turn based combat and slow motion have existed separately within gaming for years, it was only in 2008 that the two were so masterfully united in Fallout 3. It would later be taken to a further extreme in 2010's Fallout New Vegas, but Fallout 3 has the crown for doing it first. Bullet time always makes violence more palatable.
