FURI
What a hidden gem this game was, and it’s a shame that it slipped under the radar for so many gamers. FURI is a game that centers entirely on boss fights, and absolutely nothing else at all, and as such, it makes those fights feel exactly what they should feel like- challenging, grueling encounters, with the odds stacked heavily against you, but never, ever in an unfair, imbalanced way. They are, after all, boss fights. The fast-paced and precise combat is slickly presented and thrilling to experience, and while it’s tough to master in terms of timing and combining your moves, FURI always pushes you to try again and again until you get better and finally defeat your foes. The fact that the boss fights themselves are immaculately designed only makes them that much better and more challenging.
