UBISOFT TOWERS
Ubisoft towers started out as an interesting idea in Assassin’s Creed back in 2007, but as they often do, Ubisoft took it too far. With their over-structured and mechanical nature and the bloat and deluge of meaningless side activity map markers that they led to, the dreaded towers represented the worst tendencies of open world games, and eventually, they became a parody of themselves. In recent years, Ubisoft has moved away from this approach in its titles, and its no coincidence that their open worlds have become much better as a result.
