King’s Field 4
FromSoftware may have come into the limelight with its work on Dark Souls, but the developer has been a part of the industry for decades at this point. King’s Field was the developer’s debut title, released to great critical and commercial acclaim in 1994. This action RPG received two follow-ups in the form of King’s Field 2 and 3 respectively.
Of course, From has garnered immense critical and commercial acclaim with its Souls series, but King’s Field has largely been pushed to the wayside in favor of continually evolving the Souls formula with games like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and the upcoming Elden Ring. Many fans have been clamoring for a King’s Field comeback, and a Miyazaki-directed sequel would definitely set the internet on fire once again – if anything comes to fruition, that is.
