3. Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots: Octocamo Suit

Have you ever seen a chameleon? Saw how it camouflages itself according to the environment? That’s what the Octamo suit did for Solid Snake in his last hurrah in Metal Gear Solid 4. Snake can blend in to almost any type of surface in order to fool the guards. In fact one of the bosses, Laughing Octopus also had the same technology for her suit. If you thought that the camouflage system in MGS3 was revolutionary then the Octocamo Suit was evolutionary.

2. Portal: Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device

Portal is not only the best puzzle game ever, but it has one of the most amazing weapons ever as well. Portal Gun is a tool that can create inter-spatial portals between flat planes. The most amazing thing about this gun is that it actually takes real time physics in to consideration. The portal gun can create two distinct portal ends which are colored as orange and blue. The portals create a visual and physical connection between two different spaces. All objects that travel through one portal will exit through the other.

1. Okami: The magical pen

The protagonist: A wolf. Your weapon: A magical paint brush. Yes we are talking about Okami. Even though Clover Studios got a chance to develop only a couple of games, it earned the respect equivalent to that of a decade old studio. Okami was such one game that studio developed. It’s a well known fact that “The Pen is Mightier than the Sword.”, but representing it in a video game was breathtaking. Making bombs so that you can take care of the evil forces, making paths and clearing away obstacles, the paint brush innovation is easily one of the most amazing game play mechanics that we have witnessed in recent years.
