White Night
Cult horror favourite Amnesia: The Dark Descent has probably managed to evoke one of the most oppressive atmospheres in gaming ever, but it has also proven to be quite effective as a platform for modding. White Night is a great example of this, changing out the Amnesia setting of old for a creepy mental asylum that, whilst focusing on story telling, still managed to evoke an intense sense of horror.
Starcraft 2: Zerg Hunter
Are you as tired of waiting for Diablo 3 as I am? Then Zerg Hunter should help to satisfy your craving. It sports up to four players levelling up, questing and, most importantly, hunting a tonne of Zerg. It has skill trees and all the usual trimmings, making it a Diablo clone in Starcraft clothing. Just what you need to make that wait seem all the more manageable.
Black Mesa
An ambitious and gorgeous looking Half-Life remake project, Black Mesa has been in production for what seems like an age. Sporting the best that the source engine can offer, Black Mesa should be a great nostalgia trip for Half-Life fans and a fantastic way for newer players to experience this classic piece of gaming history. This should be the only FPS you’ll need to look forward to in the coming months.
