Umbrella Corps
Umbrella Corps was an idea that no one in their right minds thought should happen. As a mercenary for one of two corporations, players would compete in multiplayer matches to eliminate their opposition. This could be done with the usual guns and explosives.
However, because Umbrella Corps had to be wacky and unique, it had a weird cover system that allowed for hiding behind objects highlighted in blue; the Brainer Combat Axe for deflecting attacks; and tools that could leverage the various zombies on each map. Everyone has a Zombie Jammer on their back which helps to avoid detection from the zombies and which your enemies can shoot or disrupt with a Jammer Buster.
To the surprise of absolutely no one – not one single person – it was a failure, both as a horror title due to how pathetic the zombies were and as a competitive shooter because of bugs, awful balance and shockingly low production values. For as much as one may rag on Resistance and the upcoming RE:Verse, they’re masterpieces compared to Umbrella Corps.
