16. The Sega Activator
The Sega Activator was an octagon shaped device which had its fifteen minutes of fame, but then died down after people realized it’s quite useless. The device was meant to read your actions using infrared lasers which when interrupted corresponded to a movement in a direction. It had a complex control method and it had to be calibrated every time it was turned on.
