Mega Man. These are some of the most legendary and widely beloved franchises in the games industry, and have all influenced games in huge ways. What do they all have in common? They were all created in the 1980s. This was a decade when gaming as we know it today was in its infancy, when the things we now take for granted were emerging as revolutionary, groundbreaking ideas, and these franchises led the charge with these ideas. They set trends that became staples, and many even created genres single-handedly.
