POOR CONTROLLER BATTERY LIFE
The DualShock 4 is an excellent controller – it’s probably one of the best standard console gamepads on the market right now – but it does have some issues. One of those is its lacklustre battery life. At its best, it’ll give you 7-8 hours, but those are rather rare best-case scenarios. Usually the DualShock 4 has a battery life of 4-5 hours on average, which is a number that needs to go up with the DualSense. That might be a bit complicated, given that the PS5 also needs to consume more power for its haptics and its adaptive triggers. Sure, Sony can simply chuck a battery with a ton of capacity in there, but they also need to make sure that the controller doesn’t become too heavy as a result (among other things). Here’s hoping Sony manage to strike the balance nonetheless.
