10. Metal Gear Solid – Psycho Mantis

After the face off with Psycho Mantis in the first Metal Gear Solid back in 1998, there has hardly been an antagonist any game who has been as good as him. That guy was pure fun and evil. He’d constantly comment on your performance and even goes ahead to demonstrate his psychokinesis powers by ‘moving’ the controller at which point the game controller vibrates and boy did it not thrill us.

Psycho Mantis would anticipate your moves and make it almost impossible to deal him any hits. He even goes on to switch your TV to stand by for a few moments to confuse you. Switching the controller port was the only way to prevent him from reading your moves. Psycho Mantis was insanely brilliant to fight with. It was the perfect concoction of fun, shrewdness and action.
