The Warriors
A 3D beat ’em up based on the classic 1979 film of the same name, published by Rockstar Games? The PS2 era was truly unique, and The Warriors remains a fantastic game. Its mix of story missions and activities, where one could train or take on side missions, felt novel for the genre. The combat was also pretty deep with combos, counters and weapons, and you could even mug people and indulge in street art. With voice acting from the original actors and a stellar soundtrack, it was an instant classic for fans of beat ’em ups and the movie.
