The Darkness
Developed by Starbreeze Studios, The Darkness is a first-person shooter where players have the ability to use powers in the form of demonic extensions called “Darklings”. Players will use these abilities in addition to the general assortment of weapons. Since you can only use these abilities in the dark, you have to take out various light sources in the environment – which adds some strategy and tactical approach to the whole affair. The Darkness was released in 2007, and while its visuals haven’t aged all that well – the core gameplay loop remains enjoyable to this day.
