System Shock 2
This 1999 classic sees players navigating a starship while an artificial intelligence keeps coming at you with taunts. Much like the original, System Shock 2 is as much an RPG as it is an FPS. Players get to be creative with a number of skills and abilities, and the game has an equal number of challenging scenarios to keep players on their toes. System Shock is considered by many as an inspiration for Deus Ex, and fans interested in the origins of this genre should definitely check this game out.
