#5. SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS

Shadow of the Colossus is perhaps one of the best, most memorable first party exclusives we’ve ever seen on a PlayStation console, approaching players with a concept for a game that shouldn’t really work, but somehow supersedes all expectations in its immaculate execution. This year’s remake did exactly what the PlayStation 2 original did in terms of all that, delivering the amazing experience we all remember for 2005, but it somehow made it even better. Shadow of the Colossus on the PS4 looks unbelievably stunning, and fixes many of the original’s biggest issues- most notably its fiddly controls. It’s no surprise, then, in light of all that, that it finds a place so high in our list for our favourite games of 2018 so far.
