Killzone: Liberation

Killzone: Liberation veers away from its first-person shooter roots, and instead presents itself as a top-down action-adventure game. And while that might sound awkward at first, it all works surprisingly well for the PSP’s controls. The action is brutal in all the right ways, and the isometric view enables the developer to add an element of strategy to the gameplay that just wasn’t possible in the mainline first-person shooters. It’s definitely a unique game, one that deserves to be experienced and appreciated on its own terms.
