THE LAST OF US
The Last of Us isn’t officially categorized as a stealth game, but as anyone who’s played the game would tell you, stealth is a major part of the experience- and most of it is handled really, really well. Encounters against enemies you encounter are genuinely tense (especially when you come up against large numbers of the infected), and the fact that ammunition is a scare resource in the game means that stealth is often the best route to take. Sure, there are issues with the game’s AI (the fact that enemies in the game never seem to notice Ellie or any other of Joel’s companions can lead to unintentionally hilarious moments), but they’re never game-breaking.
