REGION LOCKING

For some reason, Nintendo thought it would be a good idea to have region locking in a handheld in 2011. 2011! Sure, region locking was a common practice once, but it’s become a thing of the past now. But apparently, Nintendo didn’t get the memo. The 3DS and the Wii U both had region locking, something that both the systems received a lot of flak for. We have to be thankful for the fact that the Switch has become the first Nintendo system ever to not have region locking, but seriously- why did it take so long?
