FREE RADICAL DESIGN
Free Radical Design were the developers and creators of the wildly popular first person shooter TimeSplitters series. Their shut down was truly tragic because essentially, it was just the result of a series of unfortunate events. Free Radical had been working on Star Wars: Battlefront III from 2006 to 2008, and even though the game was almost completely developed, the project had to be cancelled. This, along with the poor reception to Haze meant that they suffered major financial losses and went bankrupt. They were eventually acquired by Crytek, but due to continued layoffs and financial issues, they were eventually shut down in 2014.
