ACCLAIM ENTERTAINMENT

There was once a time when Acclaim were truly one of the biggest names in the video games industry. When you think of games and franchises that were owned or pioneered by them, it becomes very hard to believe that they had to be shut down eventually- Turok, Mortal Kombat, Burnout, and a number of major licensed releases such as Batman and Spider-Man… their legacy was truly astonishing. They had to file for bankruptcy and close their doors in 2004, and thinking of all the games they worked on, their shuttering is probably one of the saddest we can think of.
