Mega Man 4 departed from the series’ established roots a bit – a bit – when it decided to replace established series villain Dr. Wily with a new antagonist, Dr. Cossack- until, of course, it eventually revealed that Wily had been the mastermind pulling the strings from behind the curtains all along anyway. But if you really pay attention while playing the game, Mega Man 4 actually gives you plenty of hints that Cossack, perhaps, isn’t the game’s main villain. In every Mega Man game up until the fourth one, the main antagonist always branded almost everything in the entire game with the logo. Cossack’s sigil, though, was missing from almost the entire game. Sure, it’s not a glaringly obvious hint, but dedicated fans of the series would have been able to put two and two together.
