In the end, Shepard’s journey had ended, whether the Reapers were destroyed or they destroyed all life or everyone got along, singing in the ashes of humanity. If a new Mass Effect sequel indeed arrived, it’d be surprising to see Shepard back in action considering all the nonsense he went through.
