As satisfying as it is disturbing, The Swapper’s primary mechanic is it’s cloning ability, with players able to transfer consciousness between copies of their own body to complete the game’s platforming puzzles. The game’s puzzles aren’t the most challenging, with copies and copies of clones the only necessity to overcome the game’s rudimentary obstacles. But the philosophical implications are what weigh heavy on the mind – with all this photocopying of body, is there any remnant of soul left? And does any of this even matter?
