Controllers and wallets aren’t the only things video games are capable of breaking. As anyone who’s played local or online multiplayer will tell you, friendships are also often a casualty of playing games. Co-ordination with friends isn’t always something that comes easily to people, and when you have to do it in a video game, it becomes nearly impossible. In this feature, we’re going to take a look at fifteen games that are more than capable of ruining even the most precious of your friendships.

MARIO KART

Mario Kart is a pretty competitive game, owing to its very nature, but Nintendo does everything it possibly can to make it even more so. From the chaotic and bizarre track design to rubber band AI, Mario Kart does everything in its power to make you lose your mind with unhealthy frequency. When you play against a friend, though, the game can send you into a murderous fit of rage- especially if your friend hits you with a blue shell three inches before the finish line.
