The Chill Penguin stage in Mega Man X starts on a tepidly slow pace but builds up the speed as you get some of the best power-up in the game. Right from the boots that let you speed through the level to the mech that lets you rip through the enemies; so to say.

The level features open environs as well as cave-like structures with dark backdrops and formidable as well as numerous enemies, and the boss as always, is more than a little interesting; albeit the music in the boss level is a bit of a let down.
