MIGHTY NO. 9
Oh man, what a mess this was. When Mega Man’s Keiji Inafune formed his own team and promised to deliver a new game to fill the void that Capcom’s dormant series had left behind, there was a lot of excitement surrounding the prospect. Mighty No. 9 promised a new experience in vein of the Mega Man games, but ultimately, ended up being a bitter, bitter disappointment. Bland art style, boring and repetitive design, and poorly executed mechanics were the game’s biggest issues- but hardly the only ones. Comcept clearly underestimated the work they needed to put into the game, and that combined with its rushed and messy development meant that Mighty No. 9 was never going to come even close to what many had hoped it would be.
