PIKMIN 4
Pikmin as a whole is one of the weirdest concepts we’ve ever seen in gaming, but we’re going with Pikmin 4 here, because it manages to introduce enough bizarre new elements to feel alien in spite of being the fourth instalment in a long-running and beloved franchise. The core gameplay loop of Pikmin obviously remains the strangest take on the real-time strategy genre to date, but when you throw in elements like its whimsical cast of characters, how much charm every nook and cranny of every environment in the game is stuffed with, or the fact that you can ride around on an adorably two-legged dog that goes on to sprout a leaf for a tail, Pikmin 4 quickly becomes the weirdest game in this already strange series.
