MIMIKYU (POKEMON)

Pokemon has been known to have some odd, spooky, and even creepy ‘origin stories’ for Pokemon in the Pokedex entries (like Cubone, who we’ve already spoken about), but undoubtedly the saddest and spookiest of them all is the story of Mimikyu. Mimikyu, you see, is a monster- and not of the pocket variety. It is literally so horrifying to look at, you die just looking at it. Apparently, Mimikyu felt so lonely, and like such an ostracized outcast, that, desiring nothing but love and attention, it found a discarded Pikachu costume in the trash, and decided to wear it- something it wears to this day- just so that it would get the same kind of love and adoration that Pikachu does. It’s really sad… so when you play Pokemon Sun and Moon, go catch a Mimikyu and show it that you love it for what it is. Just… don’t ask it to take its costume off, okay?
