The Darkness
The Darkness takes the idea of revenge and twists it into a distinct shade of horror where you are the danger. You’re granted a supernatural entity that feeds on the wrath you bestow upon your enemies, and the protagonist Jackie Estacado uses this entity to avenge the death of Jenny. What makes it so effective are the dark abilities that you can use to kill these enemies, but that also turns you into a monster that’s absolutely unrecognizable from the human that you once were. The result is a story that lingers into your mind after the credits roll, and the relentless quest for vengeance makes the monster and man indistinguishable.
