SEWERS (STAR WARS: SHADOWS OF THE EMPIRE)
The sewers level in N64 title Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire is a classic case of Jaws-syndrome. For most of the level’s duration, you’re surrounded by water, and the entire time you know that lurking beneath the waves is a disgusting, slimy monster than can easily swallow you whole. You can hear it roaring and grumbling, but you can’t see it. It’s truly frightening, and the stressful boss battle at the end of the level makes it even more so.
