Half-Life 2
It’s hard to fathom Half-Life 2 is two-decades old given its pervasive influence in the FPS zeitgeist, but Valve’s seminal sequel raised the bar for what video games can accomplish and still stands head and shoulders above many modern titles. Its gunplay is timeless, it’s physics-based puzzling still innovative, it’s narrative perfectly paced, it’s atmosphere unparalleled. We can go on all day complimenting Half-Life 2; the reality is: if you haven’t played it before it’s an undeniable classic worth gunning through.
