FORCED INSTA-FAIL STEALTH SECTIONS
There’s an entire genre dedicated to stealth games (which sadly seems to be dying out), and the leaders of that genre, like Hitman, Metal Gear Solid, Splinter Cell, and other recent games like Dishonored and Deus Ex, all show that when stealth is done right, it can be an amazing thing. But some games don’t seem to understand that if you’re not good at implementing stealth mechanics, no one is forcing them to do so. And yet they do it anyway. Breath of the Wild is a generation defining title that will be remembered for years and years for countless reasons- but the Yiga Clan Hideout is perhaps one of the worst areas in any Zelda game (unless you count the CDi ones, but we don’t talk about those). Suddenly changing gears and forcing players to take the stealthy approach when a game’s mechanics clearly aren’t built for stealth isn’t ever a good idea.
