BATTLE ROYALE CRAZE
Online-focused games caught on like wildfire during the PS3 / Xbox 360 era, and this generation saw that being taken to its next step, with one particular sub-genre becoming hugely popular. It’s mostly just been a late 2010s thing, but battle royale games have become all the craze. It may have started with just PUBG and Fortnite, but since then, we’ve seen the likes of Apex Legends, Call of Duty, Battlefield, and so, so many indie games all trying their hand at the battle royale genre.
