COMBAT

Put simply, combat in No Man’s Sky is a bit terrible- there’s nothing fundamentally wrong with it, it just doesn’t feel fun to play, and it detracts from the central point of the game, which is exploration, as a result. The sad part, though, is that the game keeps pushing us into combat situations- which is patently unappreciated, because we just want to explore, and we don’t like the combat. Look, I’m fine with the combat being there, and I can even understand that some players might even like it. That’s great! Let them engage in it if they want to. But can I just please continue to explore this world without having a drone breathing down my neck every single time I so much as touch a node of metal?
